Fortune Cookie (12-30-09)

I wish I would have posted (or at least kept) all of the fortune cookie fortunes since I became pregnant with Beebo as they are all obnoxiously in line. Tonight's fortune was as follows.

"Your efforts are budding - results will appear soon."

Yep, in about 3 - 3.5 months! God help us!

Blood Pressure

I felt a little dizzy today, and then my eyes started showing floaters. While reading Annabelle a book, one eye was completely blurry with these floaters. This isn't the first time I've felt this in the last few weeks, although, I've never really had this problem pre-pregnancy or even while pregnant with Annabelle, so I called my OBGYN's office to speak with a nurse. I told her my symptoms, and she asked if I had plans to go out today. It was a very nasty, rainy day, so I told her that I did not plan to venture out. She recommended that I get my blood pressure checked only if I did decide to go out.

She didn't seem that concerned, and she said if anything, based on my symptoms, she would think that my blood pressure was too low, not too high. She recommended that I just make sure that I continued to eat a balanced diet. Ha! Balanced diet? That hasn't existed this entire pregnancy. Poor second child! Not to mention, the holidays really puts a damper on these good intentions to eat healthy.

Per the nurse, my blood pressure at my November appointment (the Wednesday before Thanksgiving) was 100/60. Based on those facts, she said I should run around 102/64. She said that 120/80 is a typical "good" blood pressure, but mine has apparently always run a little low.

The nurse told me that if my blood pressure ran 130/90 (high) or 80/50 (low), that I should contact them again to come in to the doctor's office.

I never did get my blood pressure checked, but the "floaters" went away very shortly after I spoke with her, so they didn't last more than 15-30 minutes.

Bring it on!

Last night, I noticed that Beebo was kicking me a lot harder. I guess that little booger is getting a lot bigger and a lot more crowded in there!

I think the kicks may officially be hard enough for an outsider to feel (just barely). I thought about waking hubby to let him try and feel the kicks, but I figured the chances were slim, and he was sleeping soundly.

Beebo, in case your big sister hasn't told you, I am not ashamed to push you back (in utero) when you kick me. So, bring it on little one! Bring it on!

Active

Baby Beebo is an active little booger! If this is any indication of how active this child is going to be out of utero, we're in trouble!

Annabelle was quite active herself, but this child may have Annabelle beat.

I noticed Beebo moving (or so I thought) the week before last while spending the night at my parent's house. Of course, Beebo was kicking me while Annabelle rolled all over me. I was trying to get her down for the evening, and she was all about laying directly on top of Beebo. It is sort of hard to enjoy the kicks with a three year old rolling around all over you!

But I haven't really felt much, if any, movement since then. I was feeling pretty good that maybe this child will be a little more laid back than the first. Apparently not!

Friday night, while having dinner at Chick-fil-A, Baby Beebo kicked me constantly and fluttered about in my tummy. I thought for sure it was the caffeine in the sweet tea since I rarely have any caffeine, but apparently I was wrong because he/she has been kicking me ever since!

And, so far, Baby Beebo is a night owl, just like his/her big sister! I feel Beebo kick during the day, but he/she gets much more active at night (around 9 pm).

Insomnia?

I know I'm exhausted because my patience with Annabelle is just not there! I am normally so much more patient, but this pregnancy is really weighing on me. Not to mention, Annabelle knows exactly what buttons to push.

It probably doesn't help that I am not tired and ready for bed until 11:00 p.m. or even later, and even then, I have to force myself to go to bed.

And, then, I've been waking right around 4:00 a.m. over the last few days (or week). I am not sure what is causing me to wake. I do not think I am waking at that time to use the bathroom even though I normally do have to use the bathroom at least once during the middle of the night.

But, I have a very difficult time getting myself back to sleep. Sometimes it takes an hour and a half before I'll fall back asleep. It doesn't help that Annabelle has been waking every morning at 7:30 a.m., just like clockwork!

This is going to be a long six months if I don't start sleeping better! And, it cannot possibly help the already suffering immune system.

Flintstone's Complete

Or just plain Flintstone's vitamins (twice a day). Only once a day for the Complete version.

Sometimes it is the simple things in life. My eyes lit up on Thursday, and I am sure that Dr. Dodder heard the excitement in my voice when she told me I could take Flintstone's vitamins instead of those sickening prescription prenatal vitamins.

She just said that I would need to make sure to get at least 300 MCG's (or was it 400?) of folic acid. She said a supplement of folic acid would need to be taken with the Flintstone's vitamins.

Overwhelmed

And, apparently, I have lost my ability to spell with this child! It took me several tries just now to figure out how to spell overwhelmed. Thank goodness for spell check!

I guess I probably felt quite overwhelmed during my first trimester when I was pregnant with Annabelle too, but the reasons were probably much different. Right now, I am not loving being pregnant at all. I hope that will change when the baby starts to kick, but right now,

(1) I still feel yucky and queasy at times (even though the sickness is lessening).

(2) I am exhausted, but I cannot go to sleep at night at a decent time. I always think I'll go to bed as soon as Annabelle is down for the night, but then, I am not tired!

(3) Annabelle is NOT interested in letting me nap during the day. She has to constantly be at my side. And, she no longer understands the meaning of "cuddle." I guess I cuddled her too much during her baby days, and she no longer needs me for that any more.

(4) Annabelle apparently only needs 11 hours of sleep a day with no naps at all! She decided as soon as she learned that I was pregnant that she needed to spend as much time with me as possible so she changed her sleep schedule from what used to be 8:30-9:00 p.m. until 8:30-9:00 a.m. to 8:30 - 9:00 p.m. (or later) until 7:45 a.m. (or slightly earlier) with a wake (or two) during the middle of the night. That helps with the exhaustion!

(5) Annabelle's bedtime routine has been extended with "wah-king awhile" and "stay in here with me" until she falls asleep (after she's been placed in her crib).

(6) Food is not my friend. I dread eating just about any and everything. It is a necessary evil. Varsity Frosted Oranges are my friend this week though.

(7) My house is a complete mess, and I don't have the energy to even start to clean it.

(8) I love the fall, normally, but I am not looking forward to the stress of being gone or very busy every weekend between now and November 8th!

(9) And, most of all, it is very hard to be a good mother and to enjoy Annabelle when I feel so yucky and tired.

Please let the pregnancy "honeymoon" period begin soon!

Beebo

The baby in the womb officially has a name! And, we can all thank Annabelle for the baby's in-utero name. I guess that officially means we don't have to find out the sex of the baby because this name will carry him/her through the next 26-29 weeks.

The baby's official in-utero name is Beebo!!! Pronounced "bee-bow."

During the last week, when Annabelle has been asked what the baby in Mommy's tummy is going to be, she has responded with, "Beebo, Beebo, Beebo."

So, last night, hubby came up and rubbed my belly and said, "Beebo is really getting big." And, well, the name just fit!

If you haven't read "The Belly Button" book by Sandra Boynton, go read it! Then, the name Beebo will have some meaning for you.

Thanks Annabelle for deciding on an in-utero name! We'll take care of naming the baby outside of the womb though!

P.S. The blog title will change in the next few days to incorporate "Beebo" into the title.

No Rest for the Weary

Or maybe I've gotten too much rest, I don't know. I'm not sure why I'm not quite as exhausted with this one as I was with Annabelle. Oh wait, maybe because I sleep until Annabelle wakes me in the morning (between 8:00 and 8:30) and then we read books in bed as long as she'll allow (sometimes until 11:o0 or 11:30) with cat naps here and there (for me) as she silently reads books to herself in her room (by her own willingness). She even goes in there by herself! Oh, and yes, sometimes the afternoon nap while watching a few cartoons helps too.

Of course, today we watched NO television! Hooray!!! We ventured to the grocery store and library during my normal naptime, and I'm still not tired at 11:58 p.m.

Very different from last time as I actually took naps in the car in the middle of the afternoon. Fortunately, it was cold outside during my first trimester with Annabelle. And, while pregnant with Annabelle during my first trimester, I didn't typically make it to work until 11:00 a.m. (maybe 10:30 a.m. if I was having a good day). I worked until 11:00 p.m. or later during tax season. And, I was logging 55-60 hour work weeks (during tax season). Maybe that is why I was so tired?

I just wish the nausea would go away! My fridge makes me want to vomit every time I open it. I think some chicken has spoiled from like three weeks ago (or maybe longer). Disgusting, I know! I haven't felt like cleaning it yet. Maybe that is a project for tomorrow. But, I'll definitely wear a bandanna over my nose and mouth! The baking soda I stashed in there this morning isn't helping!

So, until tomorrow (or the next day)! But, for now, I'd like to stay up for as long as possible for the simple fear of knowing that tomorrow morning I will wake up nauseous once again. And, the nausea won't go away until 9:00 p.m. or so (if it even does then).

And, sometimes, dry heaving (with a little acid here and there) in the toilet isn't such a bad thing if it makes you feel better!

Do you still wonder why this blog is private? Hope you still have your breakfast, lunch or dinner on your tummy!

Easter 2010

I had not even thought about when Easter falls in 2010. I don't know why the thought never crossed my mind.

At lunch today with Grandmama and Granddaddy and Aunt Mable and Uncle Loyd, Aunt Mable asked, "When does Easter fall next year?"

So, I googled Easter 2010 to find out. And, this is what I learned. Easter is on April 4th, 2010.

And, the interesting part is this:

"The 2010 Easter Date applies not only to the western calendar (Catholic and Protestant Churches), but also to the The Eastern Orthodox church. This is an unusual event since the two branches of Christianity have different methods for calculating the correct date for Easter. There are only a few years each century when the Easter dates match like this so Easter 2010 is likely to be seen as extra special."

Perhaps we'll have an Easter baby. That would definitely make Easter 2010 extraordinarily special!

Twins?

Okay, seriously folks! This is absolutely ridiculous! I will be 11 weeks preggers on Saturday, September 19th, 2009, and I already look 5 months pregnant!

Here is a picture of me pregnant with Annabelle at 9 weeks and 5 days (March 20th, 2006)!

I attempted to wear those same pants for the last time on Monday, September 7th, 2009 at 9 weeks, 2 days. I won't be making that mistake again! At least they still fit though. Well, that was until I ate lunch!

And, here I am pregnant at 10 weeks (September 12th, 2009) with Cashew 2010.

I fear that Annabelle may get her wish! "I tank it a ittle boy and a ittle girl!"

She has always said since we started asking her if she wanted a baby brother or sister, "I on't a boy like A-um and a girl like Ma-ee. I on't both!" With a major exclamation on "both!"

Translation: I want a boy like Adam and a girl like Molly. I want both!

So, we shall be praying for a "normal' measuring at my OBGYN appointment on October 1st! God knows I can barely handle the one child I have, doesn't He?

Blog Title

This blog title will probably change. As of now, I am not feeling very creative, and I have yet to come up with a name for this child in utero.

Nonnie recommended "Garbanzo," but,

(a) it sounds a lot like Gonzo, the Muppet, to me

(b) it sounds a whole lot like a boy, and since we don't know the sex of this child, and hopefully (if I can convince hubby), we won't find out

So, here we are again, with yet another "Cashew." Cashew 2010 we'll call it (for now), until either hubby or myself can decide on a more creative, gender neutral name.

In the mean time, enjoy the blog. Only a select few of you (three so far) were invited. Because, frankly, this blog could get a little gory with a little TMI (Too Much Information)!

I have already journaled for this child in utero, so keep your eyes open for back dated posts.
