I felt a little dizzy today, and then my eyes started showing floaters. While reading Annabelle a book, one eye was completely blurry with these floaters. This isn't the first time I've felt this in the last few weeks, although, I've never really had this problem pre-pregnancy or even while pregnant with Annabelle, so I called my OBGYN's office to speak with a nurse. I told her my symptoms, and she asked if I had plans to go out today. It was a very nasty, rainy day, so I told her that I did not plan to venture out. She recommended that I get my blood pressure checked only if I did decide to go out.
She didn't seem that concerned, and she said if anything, based on my symptoms, she would think that my blood pressure was too low, not too high. She recommended that I just make sure that I continued to eat a balanced diet. Ha! Balanced diet? That hasn't existed this entire pregnancy. Poor second child! Not to mention, the holidays really puts a damper on these good intentions to eat healthy.
Per the nurse, my blood pressure at my November appointment (the Wednesday before Thanksgiving) was 100/60. Based on those facts, she said I should run around 102/64. She said that 120/80 is a typical "good" blood pressure, but mine has apparently always run a little low.
The nurse told me that if my blood pressure ran 130/90 (high) or 80/50 (low), that I should contact them again to come in to the doctor's office.
I never did get my blood pressure checked, but the "floaters" went away very shortly after I spoke with her, so they didn't last more than 15-30 minutes.
