And, apparently, I have lost my ability to spell with this child! It took me several tries just now to figure out how to spell overwhelmed. Thank goodness for spell check!
I guess I probably felt quite overwhelmed during my first trimester when I was pregnant with Annabelle too, but the reasons were probably much different. Right now, I am not loving being pregnant at all. I hope that will change when the baby starts to kick, but right now,
(1) I still feel yucky and queasy at times (even though the sickness is lessening).
(2) I am exhausted, but I cannot go to sleep at night at a decent time. I always think I'll go to bed as soon as Annabelle is down for the night, but then, I am not tired!
(3) Annabelle is NOT interested in letting me nap during the day. She has to constantly be at my side. And, she no longer understands the meaning of "cuddle." I guess I cuddled her too much during her baby days, and she no longer needs me for that any more.
(4) Annabelle apparently only needs 11 hours of sleep a day with no naps at all! She decided as soon as she learned that I was pregnant that she needed to spend as much time with me as possible so she changed her sleep schedule from what used to be 8:30-9:00 p.m. until 8:30-9:00 a.m. to 8:30 - 9:00 p.m. (or later) until 7:45 a.m. (or slightly earlier) with a wake (or two) during the middle of the night. That helps with the exhaustion!
(5) Annabelle's bedtime routine has been extended with "wah-king awhile" and "stay in here with me" until she falls asleep (after she's been placed in her crib).
(6) Food is not my friend. I dread eating just about any and everything. It is a necessary evil. Varsity Frosted Oranges are my friend this week though.
(7) My house is a complete mess, and I don't have the energy to even start to clean it.
(8) I love the fall, normally, but I am not looking forward to the stress of being gone or very busy every weekend between now and November 8th!
(9) And, most of all, it is very hard to be a good mother and to enjoy Annabelle when I feel so yucky and tired.
Please let the pregnancy "honeymoon" period begin soon!
